Comrade Ipuole, Johnson Gregory hails from Ekpudu Okpoma in Yala Local Government area of Cross River State of Nigeria.

He attended Sabina Primary School, Itega-Ekpudu from 1987-1990 when he left home for Lagos State in western Nigeria. While in Lagos, Johnson was admitted into Oduduwa Primary School, Agege where he completed his primary school course in 1993. He proceeded to Iloro Grammar School, Agege in Lagos where he bagged his SSCE in 1999.

In 2003, Johnson though with the intention of reading Accounting, rather got admitted into the University of Calabar to read Banking and Finance. His political enthusiasm got a boost in his first year of running the consultancy course. Consequent upon this and others, in 2004, he got admitted into his dream course - Accounting, still in the same Faculty of Management Sciences.

While reading Accounting, Johnson had held several positions that seems to have prepared him for others, as the come in tandem. He was a class representative, parliamentarian of the Students Union Government. Thereafter, he metamorphosed into the president of the Accounting students. His peak position was acquired in 2007 when he passed the screening of the Calabar University Electoral Commission - CUECO, was voted for, and announced winner and was later inaugurated as the President of the Students Union Government of the University of Calabar.

He is still single and without kids. His hobbies are playing of table tennis and snooker. He appreciates fairness, probity and accountability.
